I call this photo “No mom. I’m not messing with the tree. Promise.”
This is our newest dog, Poppy. I wasn’t sure how she would do with a tree full of ‘toys’, so we started with a few days of no ornaments. That went well, so I went ahead and finished decorating (keeping the breakables to the top and the very bottom branches empty - no chances taken here, not my first rodeo)
She’s very curious and loves to look at the lights, but has been good so far and not tried to actually mess with the tree. Yet. I’m still watching though!
(x-posted pic to pillowfort and tumblr so if you’re following me everywhere then you’re probably sick of looking at it...sorry? What exactly is the cross posting etiquette when you haven’t decided where your home is?)

Date: 2018-12-17 02:22 pm (UTC)From:We haven't bothered this year with decorating because the garage got packed too full with suitcases and mattresses and all sorts of junk and we can't get to the decorations. No one else is coming this year either too. We often have about 12-15 people here but this year it's just Ruth and I so there's not much point. We'll get to them by next year.
So we have no idea how the new cats will go with decorations. I know Mister used to like to eat the fibre optic bits on the light up tree. The dogs have no interest in the decorations (Dougall doesn't care, Pip used to knock things over with his tail and just running into things he didn't see but he's not around any more) but the young cats like playing with toys a lot and decorations look a lot like their cat toys so we'll see. We generally don't have room for a big tree anyway so we put up a little one and some hanging decorations so we'll probably be fine.
Hope she stays good with it.
