I have finished things!!!

I know, I'm as shocked as you are.

To save those of you not all that excited to scroll through masses of knitting pictures....


I did finish a few things before Christmas. Three 'java jackets' (coffee cup cozies) and a couple tree ornaments (a tiny stocking and a Santa hat). The two main ones that I didn't get post here are ---

Holly's Peace, Love and Happiness pillow:



Wish I had gotten a picture of this in better lighting, it's really hard to see the patterns on the squares here. She loved it though.

Sue's Slytherin Armwarmers, just finished tonight (woohoo!!):








And last, the project that WOULD NOT END - My niece Sharee's Sally Doll. Just finished at the end of this past week, waiting on RLBF to paint her trunk for me so I can ship her off to my sister's house:

The doll herself was done ages ago, it's more the clothes that slowed me down

Don't look at me like that! I wasn't playing with her or anything....I just had to make sure all the clothes fit. Yeah *shifty eyes* that's it.
Oh stop judging and leave me to finish my VERY LAST Christmas project.
That would be my other niece Rochelle's topsy turvy doll. Hoping to be about a week away from finishing that one.

May I ask where you got the pattern for the Slytherin arm warmers? I have a friend who needs those :)

I combined three patterns and then did a couple adjustments fit-wise. One for the snake and S charts, one for the spacing of the stripes, and then this for the basic armwarmer pattern.

It was a lot more planning (and math!) than I expected but I'm really happy with how they came out. Makes all the time deciphering my own messy notes seem worth it.

Thanks, my sister says the doll has the magical property of keeping her both silent and entertained for hours at a time so it was a hit :)

The armwarmers turned out well, but combining a sock pattern with two armwarmers patterns opened my eyes to the ugly truth that knitting requires math. I had to take back at least two time I told my teachers I would never need to learn that algerbra nonsense.

Go and knit! You made me want to post something. I spent the evening writing one up, and tomorrow I'll have to do all my pics and links. Giant WIP Post of Doom. THEN I'll get back to knitting something :)

I'll look forward to reading your WIP post. I should make one of my own. I've got a giant cross-stitch project going, and I'm making a bunch of collage papers. Then there's that matter of learning how to make granny squares …

Your niece will love that doll all her life. What a great gift.

I was hoping putting all the WIPs in one post would inspire me to finish them, we'll see how well that works. At least it was phone to take them all out to photograph them and update my Project pages.
