patelyne: (Squirrel spy!!)

I've been in love with this trumpet vine ever since we used to rent the house next door.
The leaves are just starting to come in, then we'll get the flowers that bring the hummingbirds.
In the mean time it's a bit of a squirrel haven.

Sadie likes to sit in the window and bark at them. A LOT. I try not to hold that against her or the plant. I blame the squirrels.

Hard to tell from the first picture, but it is seriously HUGE. When they first planted the vines they did it around an old power pole and trained it to twist that way.

What's better than a beautiful flower garden? Flowers that you don't have to plant because the prior residents did...even if they did come back and steal the ninja rhubarb.

...which leaves us with the ugly -

This bastard of a mystery plant most likely means someone did something wrong when they built the bathroom addition on (like not having a proper foundation and/or putting plastic down). RLBF will be investigating under house at some point. Fingers crossed it won't be anything disastrous.

Thank you. I'm not entirely used to living back 'in town' yet, but having pretty plants around sure helps out
(now if I could just figure out how I used to sleep through the trains going by!)

You'll get used to the trains fast went to a college which they constantly went through and you learn to zone them out.

I hope the squirrels didn't coax the plant into the house hoping to break in that way *worries*

Hummm, I am not certain you are safe... You know they have demoniac plans sometime... I'll ask Bobo, maybe he knows more...
