Okay, so it might not be the prettiest thing ever
BUT
it's the first and only thing I've ever knit.

As soon as I finish crocheting the blanket for the niece-to-be it will be boxed up and sent along with current niece's birthday present (zhuzhu pet with a ballerina outfit in case you were wondering) With this freakish weather they're having over in Maryland it might even still be cold enough for her to use it this year.

It seems fitting that she should get my very first knitting attempt of a slightly off scarf since she was also lucky enough to get my very first crochet attempt of a slightly (okay very) crooked blanket.

YAY I FINISHED THE SCARF!!
(I just wanted to yell that again)

Yay!
it is awesome.
I love the colours.
knitting can be fun and it does get a lot easier once you get used to it.
I'm not quick at reading patterns. I spend as much time trying to find where I am as I do knitting but it does feel really cool to get something when you're done.

Thank you :D
Hopefully the niece will like it, at least enough to wear it.

After the first couple rows I lost the urge to blind myself with the knitting needles, and it got easier still by the end. I am still completely pattern clueless (luckily this whole thing was just doing the same thing row after row lol) but it went well enough I decided to try and learn some more.

You might have taken all my snow, but I stole all the pretty weather. Want to know what else I did today? Rode around town on my scooter. How's your bike doing? *sticks out tongue*

LOL

Well, my bike is very happy... in my living room...

Maybe if you hadn't stolen all my winter you could be riding it right now...

lol Yep... but to be honest, there is not a lot of snow here neither....

Dude, you have my total respect. I cannot knit scarves! I did one, which was a Tom Baker scarf, and those metres of garter stitch scarred me for life.

So what's the next project, huh, huh? Did you get bitten by the knitting bug?

Date: 2010-03-08 02:18 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] mrsalemp.livejournal.com
Thank you, but you can make a dalek! Dalek beats scarf by a gabillion percent of awesome. Also - aren't the Tom Baker scarves gigantic? This was just a kid's scarf. Not nearly as scarring lol

I need a next project, if only to justify the yarn I bought on Saturday (just because it was pretty....this is how my massive paper collection started for scrapbooking, I worry for myself) BUT FIRST if I don't finish crocheting the baby blanket soon my sister will kill me dead.
