It took almost the entire month, but I finished the WIP I picked for February. Not so bad time-wise, when you consider it's been almost 4 years since I cast on (yikes!)

The pattern is Hue Shift, by Kerin Dimeler-Laurence. The yarn was from the Knit Picks rainbow kit (and then a couple replacements on squares towards the end when I ran short)

It turned out just as pretty as I hoped, and I love it. One of our dogs loves it just as much, so it appears there’s a lot of sharing in my future.

I might have spent the last week or so whining about all the finish work though. Mainly about weaving the ends I had left - if you make this for yourself, weave them in as you go. Seriously. I did for the first half, and wish I kept at it. The border felt like it took forever, but I think that’s just because rows after rows of black garter stitch are soooooo monotonous. I like the look, but damn it was a slow slog.

I think for next month I’m going to pick two WIPs. One mindless for knitting when I want to paying attention to other things, and one complicated to keep me interested. Shouldn’t be a problem, because I still have waaaay too many WIPs.

And in case you thought I was kidding about the whole dog claiming the blanket thing, here’s just a few examples of Poppy being Super Helpful while I was trying to take those project pictures
