I adore those mitts. Oddly enough, I'm knitting mitts myself right now - Magic Mirror that I'm converting on the fly to be fingerless gloves/mitts combo. I'm knitting them in an undyed wool, so I'm thinking I'll dye them once they're knit, see what happens.
Once you start wearing handknit socks, you will never go back. :D
I need to get up the courage to knit with beads - I have a mostly knit Shipwreck that is languishing because I've reached the beaded section. I know there's a technique you can use that doesn't involve pre-stringing the beads onto the yarn, but I haven't got up the courage to try it yet.
