Topsy-Turvy doll for younger niece, chemo cap for donation and mittens ... well one mitten and most of the second (I said I was a bit accomplished)
Soooooo when I made that last post I thought I would be only a week away from finishing my last Christmas present. Turns out it's taken me nearly a month. Oops.
BUT
I'M DONE!! WOOHOO!!!

It wasn’t that the topsy turvy doll pattern was very hard to knit, I just lost the will to work on it about half way through. It takes a lot of seaming and sewing which I do not like to do and things just didn’t seem to line up for me. BUT I finally buckled down and got it done. Bit late for Christmas, but early for birthday so that works too.
Made a few changes including: White “belt” around the middle, embroidery around the neck instead of the ruffle, different hair & dress sleeves than pattern, added thumbs, gave one side a smirk … I think that’s about it.
I'll be sending this for Rochelle, and the doll I'd already finished for Sharee off to my sister next week. Here's to hoping they like them *crosses fingers*
Finishing that was slightly delayed by the fact I started the Northman Mittens. Getting close to finishing up on the second one, but here's front and back shots of the one that is done.

They've been nicknamed "The Mittens Of Learning" because they've forced me to learn a fancy little braided stitch, a new way to increase, a new cast on and the importance of yarn dominance. I'm really enjoying the pattern and I see more stranded knitting projects in my future.
The other project delay was from our knitting group making some chemo caps for the TriCities Cancer Center. Our group's unofficial leader was sweet enough to buy yarn for anyone who wanted to help out and knit one. I was a little nervous making something that actually had to be the right size, and wanted it to be perfect since it wasn't for myself or someone who is required to love it due to family/friend ties. But, very surprisingly, it went smoothly (except for a few rows I had to redo because of a dropped stitch) and I managed to finish mine in under a week. First out of everyone! It was a fun and easy pattern, and I'll probably buy some yarn to make another next time I can get to the LYS. I'll probably get two, because getting down to 2 1/2 inches of yarn leftover is nerve-wracking.

....Now - do I start something new or finish the rest of my WIPs first hmmmmmmmmm
