This, that and the other thing....

Quick rundown of what I’ve been up to now that I’ve gotten over being crazy sick for so long…
After this I’m off to catch up on all the reading I’ve missed. [livejournal.com profile] amand_r especially - she's been busy with some amazing stuff!! Worst part about being sick was having all the free time but being completely unable to focus.
Also - Not sure if he's around to see this, but... HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK!

Part eleventy billion in how I am spoiled by [livejournal.com profile] tardistenantsue … SHE ORDERED US SHIRTS!!
Almost matching, except the names (in tribute to our inner!Jack and inner!Ianto)

Yesterday, I finally made the apple pie I’ve been promising RLBF for ages. It was yum, mostly. Topping wasn’t quite right. I had to guess on the ingredient amounts because my scrap of paper with all that stuff has been MIA since the move. Tasted close, but if I can’t find the paper I’m going to have to call my mom before Turkey day.

Also yesterday – I FOUND A KITTY. I can maybe probably keep it. She (I’m pretty sure?) followed me all the way to Sue’s, waited an hour for me and then followed me back home. RLBF wanted to give her to his brother, but we get to keep her on a trial basis (I used my best wheedling skills). He has decided to name her George last night (Hug her and squeeze her and call her George…do you know how many times I heard that last night? I think the kitty is growing on him more than he admits)

And finally TODAY - In an attempt to actually do something resembling exercise we were playing Wii Dance Dance Revolution earlier. Songs like ‘Don’t You Forget About Me’ take on a whole new meaning when you are using the Miis that look like Jack and Ianto. OH YEAH – WE REINACTED WITH A NINTENDO DANCE GAME. TOP THAT!

Well….it was all well and good, even with having trouble not laughing so hard we fell off our mats. And then we took a break. SOME HOW her kids managed to tip one of my bookcases over and we didn’t even hear. Don’t ask me how. Because I am a good friend (and being a spoiled brat I owe her big time) I decided to FINALLY let her arrange a couple shelves of my books by colour when we tipped it back upright. She’s wanted to do it for a while, and since they were spread out all over my floor I figured what could it hurt?
For anyone who didn’t follow Ask!verse scroll down to the bottom for reference

I’ll let you see what she did on the condition you don’t judge my books, I swear I read actual BOOKS sometimes. One's with plot and redeeming value. I SWEAR. Those are on the built in book cases. Let’s see them try to knock them over. Actually, let’s not, best not to tempt fate. That being said, these ones have much prettier colours....I wonder if Sue somehow convinced her kids to knock that particular case over just so she could have fun....

And that’s about all I’ve got going on. Now on to that ‘to read’ list…

Aren't they?!? GO WEEVILS!!

I haven't heard of anyone looking for a missing kitty, and I know she doesn't belong to the people that live between me and Sue. Our town has a MAJOR stray cat problem, they are everywhere.

Never read Jennifer Cruise, should I? I have the Plum books because they make me happy :D

Fair enough. Check her for fleas PDQ, though - they are a pain in the arse to get rid of. the drops that go on the back of the neck (eg Advantage) are the easiest way to get them off the cat. If they settle into the house it gets a lot harder.

I think you probably should. Start with something like Welcome to Temptation, or Bet Me. I have Lean Mean Fourteen sitting on my To Read shelf, waiting for me. JE's Metro Girl books are fun, too.

I gave her a bath and checked her for fleas, ear mites etc etc and she did have one flea and that was it. I had some Hartz drops and put that on her. She'll be going into the vet to get shots and checked out etc etc etc if they can fit her in after Sadie's shots (otherwise I have to make an appointment for next week)

I will check the trade shelves at work and see if we have either of those :)

Cool. I had a flatmate whose cat was flea-infested (and pregnant, but that's another story) on arrival, and it got ugly.

Also, I may have meant Fearless Fourteen. I really have to stop buying books, and start reading the ones I've got.

We had another stray a few years back that was REALLY covered with fleas, poor little guy. Took a bit of work to clear him up, plus he was nearly starved and too tiny to eat by himself. We found him trapped in a shed behind my work, ended up growing into a HUGE cat though.

My to read pile turned into a shelf and then into a cupboard. It's out of control. That's what happens with the trade a book thing at the shop, if I see one that looks at all interesting I grab it.
