THANK YOU so much for your message. I finished the first sock and immediately cast on for the second; I'm about five rounds in. It does feel better to get that one done. I had to pull back *twice*, but it really wasn't as bad as I kept being afraid of and I didn't drop any stitches. It fits me really well, actually, so if they don't work for my mom I'll just steal them. (She was saying the toes feel tight, until I explained the concepts of "negative ease" and "stretching". Although it does concern me a bit, but I think it's just because she has a bunion on that foot and I don't know how to do decreases for toes while compensating for a bunion. So stretching, yes.)
